Bintan island is the largest of the 3,200 islands in the Riau archipelago, located just 45 kilometers southeast of Singapore 0r a 45-minute rides on a Catamaran from Singapore. The highest point on the island is a hill or what is left of an old volcano. Known as Bintan Besar, it measures almost 400 meters high.

More than 100.000 species fin their habitat in the sea surrounding the island, including snails, clams, oysters, squid, and sea shells. Olphins are alsospotted regularly frolicking in the waters.
